How many hours of sleep will keep you healthy? pictures

Many of us live very busy lives, and tend to get much less sleep than we may need a night. The tough part in determining how much sleep we need is that it varies with age, and every individual needs a different amount of sleep. There are two other main factors that need to be looked at when determining how much sleep you should have. The first one is your basal sleep need: how much sleep you need to to function well on any given day. The other factor is your sleep debt: this is how many hours you should sleep to make up for lost sleep, illness, or high amounts of physical activity or stress. On average, adults should get around seven or eight hours of good sleep to fulfill their basal sleep needs. Many people who do not get enough sleep run specific risks. These can include increased car accidents, obesity caused by overeating due to sleep deprivation, more heart problems, and a lower attention span. One great way to make sure that your body is getting enough sleep is to set a strict sleep schedule that includes bed time and wake up time. Another great option to help you sleep better is to create a bedtime routine. This can include a warm bath, reading a good book, or listening to soothing music. Exercise is another great tool to help you sleep. Whatever your sleep needs may be, keep track of how you are feeling and see if you are getting enough sleep. If you have sleep debt, you can get caught up on that. Figure out how many hours of sleep you need a night and live a better, healthier life now.
